On­tario women’s health strat­egy

The So­cial Devel­op­ment Coun­cil of Corn­wall and Area and Echo: Im­prov­ing Women’s Health in On­tario are pleased to in­vite you to par­tic­i­pate in a con­ver­sa­tion about the On­tario Women’s Health Strat­egy. This is one of sev­eral events be­ing hosted across On­tario to share the strat­egy and en­gage stake­hold­ers.

To­gether we will dis­cuss the cur­rent state of women’s health in On­tario and the need for a women’s health strat­egy. The strat­egy (cur­rently in draft) has iden­ti­fied four pri­or­ity ar­eas for ac­tion: im­prov­ing ac­cess to ser­vices and ad­dress­ing bar- ri­ers; in­te­grat­ing ser­vices us­ing a women-cen­tred ap­proach; im­prov­ing life cir­cum­stances for vul­ner­a­ble women and adding ac­count­abil­ity and plan­ning mech­a­nisms, par­tic­u­larly around the use of sex and gen­der based anal­y­sis, to im­prove qual­ity of care.

We are ea­ger to hear your sto­ries about women’s health and so­cial well-be­ing and in­vite you to pro­vide your views on the draft strat­egy. We would like to en­gage you in con­ver­sa­tion about how the strat­egy can be sup­ported and used in your com­mu­nity to­ward im­prov­ing women’s health and so­cial well-be­ing in On­tario.

The event will be on June 24 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm in pro­gram room 1 and 2 at the Corn­wall Pub­lic Li­brary. Break­fast, lunch and re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided. We ac­tively sup­port in­clu­sion. When you reg­is­ter, please also ad­vise us of in­clu­sion needs, such as sign­ing, sup­port for child­care and trans­porta­tion.
