United Way needs $350,000 by December 13
CORNWALL, Ontario – The United Way of SD & G hit the 50 per cent mark of their 2013 fundraising campaign of $700,001.
It’s a huge achievement that can’t be overly celebrated since the campaign’s deadline of Friday, Dec. 13 is just around the corner.
“It is great to see that we are making progress but it also shows that we still have a ways to go,” said Nolan Quinn, campaign chair. “We are in crunch time to get where we need to be, but with the generosity and support of our community we are confident we will reach our goal.”
There are 19 charitable agencies that depend on the support of the United Way. It’s estimated that one out of four people in SD & G use a United Way service.
“People can get involved by talking about the campaign with co- workers and friends and family,” said Quinn. “Awareness is just as important as the funds themselves.”
