Thank You!

Seaway News - - National Volunteer Week -

Each year we dedicate a special time to honour citizens who volunteer their time and talents to worthy causes across our country, region and local community. We want to acknowledge the incredible efforts of volunteers and say THANK YOU. National Volunteer Week is when we can all take time to recognize volunteers and celebrate the power of volunteerism in our community.

Volunteers reach out beyond themselves, to engage in kindness and caring for others. People from all walks of life engage in volunteerism for a variety of reasons some of which are: to tackle the issues of poverty, the environment, homelessness, to promote social inclusion, and most importantly, to be the voice and hands of compassion and hope.

Canadians have a rich history of volunteering and community involvement. The work of the volunteer is essential work. National Volunteer Week (NVW) pays tribute to the millions of Canadian volunteers who donate their time and energy.

NVW is the biggest celebration of volunteers and voluntarism Canada has and Volunteer Canada is taking the lead on the celebrations every year. NVW campaigns were developed to help organizations and individuals from coast to coast to coast deliver their own volunteer week celebrations.
