Brome-missisquoi Wine Route in Festive Fall mode

-

From September to the end of October, the Brome-missisquoi Wine Route will be particularly busy as several vineyards have prepared special activities to highlight the harvest period. This is a great opportunity for the public to take part in a crucial stage of wine production in an experience that is instructive, playful, and rewarding.

Gathering the grapes

Most vineyards offer guided tours with the winemaker, an interesting way to learn about the backdrop of the vineyards and more about winemaking in Quebec. But during the harvest period, several also invite the public to participate in picking the grapes. This is the case for Domaine Breese, the Vignoble du Ruisseau, the UNION LIBRE vineyards and cider houses, and the Bauge vineyard. At many of these producers, participants will even have the pleasure of leaving with a nice bottle in their hands.

Experience the experience ... fully!

The Domaine du Ridge in Saint-armand even proposes to offer visitors the chance to tread the grapes in the traditional way and contribute to the next vintage in a unique way.

Of course, with good wine often comes good food, so several vineyards will serve as a gourmet stop during the harvest. This is the case of the UNION LIBRE, vineyard and cider plantation where a food truck will be parked and the Bauge Vineyard where wild boar will be served. At the Vignoble du Ruisseau, in addition to a dinner beginning the first weekend of October, a "winegrower's supper" will be served on October 7 and 28.

A newcomer

The harvest period is a good excuse to

discover the newest Route des Vins vineyard, La Belle Alliance, in Shefford, and learn about their Chardonnay, Vidal and Frontenac creations.

Tastings, party, colors

The Wines Route is also hosting a booth at the Mont Sutton Fall Festival, every weekend, from September 16 to October 15, where one can sample the products of several vineyards.

In addition to offering a myriad of activities under the theme of the grape harvest, Brome-missisquoi also invites

visitors to take part in popular Brome Lake Duck Festival on September 23 and 24. In addition to the featured duck, several products from the soil and sweets will delight taste buds of all ages,

Created in 2004, the Brome-missisquoi Wine Route is the only wine route defined in Quebec. It brings together 22 vineyards and 90 partner companies within a radius of 25 km, which produce about 60 per cent of Quebec's total wine production.
