Open House at Fi­bromyal­gia As­so­ci­a­tion

The Fi­bromyal­gia As­so­ci­a­tion of the East­ern Town­ships (AFE) is invit­ing the pub­lic to come out foir its Open Doors Day which will take place on Satur­day, Septem­ber 16, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1013 Galt West in Sher­brooke.

The event is an op­por­tu­nity to de­mys­tify fi­bromyal­gia and raise aware­ness of ser­vices of­fered by the As­so­ci­a­tion.

The pro­gram­ming of ac­tiv­i­ties for the fall of 2017 is once again di­ver­si­fied and in­cludes some new com­po­nents and more than twenty dif­fer­ent ac­tiv­i­ties have been pro­posed for the East­ern Town­ships. Con­fer­ences, work­shops, adapted phys­i­cal ac­tiv­i­ties, Po­lia, tech­nique Nia, med­i­ta­tion, aqua fi­bro, yoga, Qi Gong, sophrol­ogy, ther­a­peu­tic singing, and au­to­hyp­no­sis, are among the ac­tiv­i­ties planned, and a cof­fee-meet­ing and shar­ing group are pro­posed. Video pre­sen­ta­tions of the ac­tiv­i­ties of­fered will help ex­plain th­ese ac­tiv­i­ties and wel­come, lis­ten­ing and sup­port are al­ways avail­able.

In ad­di­tion, Au­tumn 2017 will be marked by the de­ploy­ment of the AFE'S ac­tiv­i­ties in the Lac-mé­gan­tic and As­bestos re­gions.

The Open Doors event is a spe­cial time for peo­ple who want in­for­ma­tion on fi­bromyal­gia to get doc­u­men­ta­tion and talk to staff and vol­un­teers on site.

The Fi­bromyal­gia As­so­ci­a­tion of the East­ern Town­ships has more than 300 mem­bers. It has been in ex­is­tence for 24 years and is ded­i­cated to help­ing peo­ple with fi­bromyal­gia de­velop tools to achieve in­di­vid­ual well-be­ing, while pro­vid­ing a place of be­long­ing where they feel rec­og­nized and wel­comed.
