Sherbrooke Record - - LOCAL NEWS -

The Sûreté du Québec, the Montreal Police Department, the Association of Quebec Police Chiefs, the Société de l 'assurance automobile du Québec, and Contrôle Routier Québec, have filed their report on the road safety operation conducted jointly from September 22 to 28.

The SQ reported more than 620 infractions during the numerous operations carried out throughout the Townships and central Quebec. Across the province, that number reached more than 9,500.

Police specifically targeted the use of cell phones while driving and also responded to other offenses under the Highway Safety Code and the Criminal Code.

Collaboration among the various partners, combining education, prevention, intervention and communication, is always beneficial for road safety and contributes to improving the sense of safety for users of the road network.

Getting road users to understand the risks posed by the road and to adopt safe and responsible behavior with operations like this contributes to improving the quality of life for all Quebecers.
