- Record Staff

Nordia Inc has announced that it will be creating almost 400 new jobs over the next year, 120 of which will be at its newly renovated Sherbrooke call centre.

“We are extremely excited to have won this major contract and to be able to further expand our operations in Sherbrooke,” said Nordia president and CEO John Dinardo. “For people who are passionate about customer service, Nordia offers excellent compensation, great career opportunities and best-in-world working environment.”

Career Day

As part its Sherbrooke recruitment campaign, Nordia is organizing a Career Day on Wednesday, February 21 from 11 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Prospective candidates will be able to meet recruiters and learn more about the current opportunities as well as get a tour of Nordia’s expanded and renovated centre. Candidates should be bilingual and be prepared to work weekday schedules. The centre is beside the Magog River across from Parc Jacques-cartier at 325 Jacques-cartier South in Sherbrooke. More information is available at www.nordia.ca or by calling 819-829-2559 ext. 6246.

According to company spokesperson Philip van Leeuwen, Sherbrooke provides a perfect environment for the company, with a bilingual and diverse workforce, nearby colleges and universities, and its standard of living. “Sherbrooke, along with Moncton, is our major bilingual centre,” he says. “We are a national company and most of our business is carried out in English. But about 20 per cent is in French, so we need to have people who are comfortable in both.”
