Four ar­rests for driv­ing un­der the in­flu­ence in less than 24 hours

On Sun­day, Oct. 7, Mem­phrem­a­gog Po­lice of­fi­cers ar­rested three men and one woman for driv­ing while im­paired by al­co­hol.

The al­low­able limit is 80 mg of al­co­hol per 100 ml of blood. Sus­pects aged 24, 33, 36 and 51 years old blew rates that ranged be­tween 104 and 143 mg of al­co­hol per 100 ml of blood.

The 51-year-old was stopped be­cause he was mov­ing at 165 km / h on Ge­orgeville Road, where the speed limit is 80 km / h. He was fined $1,575 and hit with 18 de­merit points to his driv­ing record.

His li­cense, as well as those of the other three, all from Ma­gog, were sus­pended for a pe­riod of 90 days. All four were re­leased with a prom­ise to ap­pear later at the Sher­brooke Court­house.
