National Caregiver Week: a time to thank those who care for others
National Caregiver Week, which takes place from November 4 to 10, 2018, is an event that pays tribute to the dedication of caregivers and highlights their contribution to society.
The Missisquoi North Volunteer Centre (CABMN) Senior Services Coordinators, Angelle Laplume and Monique Gilbert take this opportunity, on behalf of the CABMN to thank all caregivers in the Western Sector of the MRC Memphremagog for their precious time and care given in bettering the lives of those they are caring for.
The CABMN supports caregivers by offering respite, socialization and information activities. One of their specific objectives is to organize workshops or conferences on topics chosen by caregivers and/or seniors. A total of 17 workshops and activities were organized by the CABMN in the past year in locations
including Mansonville, Bolton-est, St-etienne-de-bolton and Eastman. A total of 277 people attended these sessions.
Laplume and Gilbert consider it a privilege to organize workshops and activities of this nature.
“These types of information sessions are a way for the CABMN to support those who give care to others and this should always be one of our priorities; especially noting the fact that we live in a rural area where the senior population is above average,” said Gilbert.
During National Caregiver Week, we join all groups and organizations in saluting the wonderful contribution made by caregivers. The CABMN strives to support your efforts and recognize the valuable role you play.
