Le Sta­tion wins World Cheese com­pe­ti­tion

Compton’s Fro­magerie La Sta­tion was named among the win­ners of the World Cheese Awards, dis­tin­guish­ing it­self among more than 3,500 cheeses that were judged in Ber­gen, Nor­way on Fri­day, Novem­ber 2; Fro­magerie La Sta­tion re­ceived three pres­ti­gious Gold, Sil­ver and Bronze awards for its Al­fred Le Fer­mier, Grand Cru, Chemin Hat­ley, and Compton Pep­per Ra­clette cheeses.

With a record par­tic­i­pa­tion from 29 dif­fer­ent coun­tries, de­liv­er­ies to the com­pe­ti­tion were made by road, train, plane, and boat, via sev­eral re­cep­tion points lo­cated in all cor­ners of the globe. The jury of 230 ex­perts rep­re­sent­ing six con­ti­nents tasted and clas­si­fied the cheeses and handed out prizes of sil­ver, gold and su­per gold to win­ning cheeses.

The World Cheese Awards is the largest cheese com­pe­ti­tion in the world and is or­ga­nized by the Guild of Fine Food.
