Le Station wins World Cheese competition
Compton’s Fromagerie La Station was named among the winners of the World Cheese Awards, distinguishing itself among more than 3,500 cheeses that were judged in Bergen, Norway on Friday, November 2; Fromagerie La Station received three prestigious Gold, Silver and Bronze awards for its Alfred Le Fermier, Grand Cru, Chemin Hatley, and Compton Pepper Raclette cheeses.
With a record participation from 29 different countries, deliveries to the competition were made by road, train, plane, and boat, via several reception points located in all corners of the globe. The jury of 230 experts representing six continents tasted and classified the cheeses and handed out prizes of silver, gold and super gold to winning cheeses.
The World Cheese Awards is the largest cheese competition in the world and is organized by the Guild of Fine Food.
