Strong start to the new year of Phelps programs!

-

We are optimistic that we will be able to maintain the current conditions of our program over the rest of the school year but remain prepared for a transition should the current COVID-19 situation become more severe.

Phelps programs are off to a strong start! After almost three weeks, over 80 participants registered in one of our programs, ranging from grade three to adult education.

Grade 3 and 4 students, from both Sunnyside and Jardin-des-frontières, were very excited to get back to Spark! This week marks their first day since the start of the pandemic in March. In their first week, participants were able to enjoy pandemic friendly activities, including musical statues, simple science mixtures in the form of fun fizzy paint, and lots of outdoor games.

High school students have now settled into their Phelps routine. The hybrid model program, in-person and online, has so far proven to be a hit with students who are now able to access homework help from tutors that otherwise could not attend the sessions.

We are optimistic that we will be able to maintain the current conditions of our program over the rest of the school year but remain prepared for a transition should the current COVID-19 situation become more severe. As ever, the Phelps team is dedicated to alleviating the barriers that some students face with their academic success. Our participants know that they have our support, whether it is inperson or online.

Phelps Aide Phelps Helps was founded in 2012 and has grown organically from a single high school tutoring program to six unique programs, providing the Stanstead area with free educational and career support.
