De­cem­ber 14 has been de­clared “Light the Way Day” in Saugeen Shores as the Saugeen Me­mo­rial Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion stages a one-day blitz to raise $150,000 with a ra­dio­thon to buy equip­ment for the Southamp­ton hos­pi­tal, now un­der­go­ing a ma­jor ren­o­va­tion. Foun­da­tion Ex­ec­u­tive Direc­tor Sally Kid­son got into the spirit and cos­tume of the “Hap­pily Ever Af­ter” -themed cam­paign at a re­cent Saugeen Shores coun­cil meet­ing where she urged peo­ple to sup­port the cam­paign. The 98 The Beach ra­dio­thon runs 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and peo­ple can call in the pledge, or drop into the sta­tion at 382 Goderich St., Port El­gin.
