Police remind motorists to prepare for all eventualities after a herd of goats escaped their pen near Bealton this week. A motorist alerted police to the presence of several goats in the middle of the road on Townsend Road 2 between the Cockshutt Road and Villa Nova Road around midnight Monday. An investigation determined that the animals had escaped from a pen at a nearby farm. The goats were rounded up and returned to their owner. “Police are reminding all motor vehicle operators to pay attention to their driving abilities and to be aware of your surroundings at all times,” Const. Ed Sanchuk of the Norfolk OPP said Tuesday in a news release. “Predictable is preventable. Make safety your priority.”
