De­spite be­ing rained out Satur­day the Speedy Creek Racing As­so­ci­a­tion still man­aged to open an­other sea­son of racing on Sun­day with a full slate of races in the Mini, Hobby, and Street Stock di­vi­sions in front of 295 spec­ta­tors at the Speedy Creek Race­way.

In the Mini Stock divi­sion seven cars were able to cap­ture points over three races led by last year’s run­ner up #96 Steve Lee who topped the sec­ond heat as well as the fea­ture to sit atop the stand­ings with 48 points.

#8 Brody Crowe also grabbed a heat win and sits third with 42 points, four back of #97 Tyson Empy in sec­ond.

In Hobby Stock action four dif­fer­ent driv­ers took the check­ered flag led by #7 Cam We­ston who cap­tured heat 1A as well as the fea­ture race to grab a share of first place in the stand­ings with 45 points along with #33 Greg Schultz who topped heat 2B.

Also winning heats in the Hobby Stock divi­sion on Sun­day were #24 Mur­ray Koeth­ler and #0 Tan­ner Lev­er­son.

In the Street Stock divi­sion #20 Colin John­son took the check­ered flag in the fea­ture race, while #67 Ron Dyck topped a pair of heat races fol­lowed by sin­gle heat wins from #46 Ja­son Du­c­los and #76 Phil Zanger.

Du­c­los now holds a four-point lead atop the stand­ings with 46 points fol­lowed by John­son and Zanger with 42 points apiece.

The next SCRA race day is sched­uled for May 23rd at 7 p.m. fea­tur­ing Hob­bies, Streets, and the first ap­pear­ance of the al­ways pop­u­lar IMCA Mod­i­fieds.
