PeeWee Indians fall in Legasse A final
Tthe he Swift Current PeeWee Indians baseball team spent long weekend in Regina at the Regina Legasse AAA Tournament and finished with a 3-2 record after dropping the A final 2-0 to the Saskatoon Cardinals.
Dawson Tangen and Reid Fritzke pitched a two-hitter but the Tribe were unable to capitalize at the plate in the loss.
In the semi-finals the Indians rode a strong pitching outing from Darby Crozier and three hits from Tyler Galloway to a 9-6 win over the Weyburn Oilers.
In round robin action the Indians earned a 5-3 win over the Moose Jaw Mets, a 10-2 win over the Estevan Tornadoes, and suffered a 3-2 loss to the Manitoba Oil Dome.
Earlier this month the PeeWee Tribe opened their league schedule at home with a 10-1 win over the Moose Jaw Mets followed by a 15-10 loss to the Mets.
The PeeWee Indians ( 1-1-0) will be back on the road this weekend as they head to Estevan (23-0) on Saturday and Weyburn ( 2-0-0) on Sunday for a pair of double headers.
The Tribe currently sit in fourth-place in the eight-team Regina AAA PeeWee Baseball League with a .500 winning percentage.
