Bradi Wall is Iowa bound
Swift Current’s AAA Midget Indians baseball player Bradi Wall is headed to Iowa this summer on a scholarship to play softball for IowaWestern Community College.
Wall is more than excited to be heading down there in August. With the new school year only three months away it is not only exciting but it is also slightly nerve racking. In the end, Wall has nothing but good things to say.
“It’s definitely paid off finally from all my years of ball. It’s exciting and it feels like an accomplishment.”
IowaWestern Community College is located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The College was started in 1967 and is a continuing success. As of August of 2009, Wall will officially become an IWCC Reiver (River Pirate).
With Wall headed off to Iowa for softball she’s only slightly nervous about the change in sports.
“Playing baseball all my life, then going to Iowa having played hardly any softball is nerve-racking. Hopefully I’ll be able to adjust to the softball from baseball and see how it goes.”
However playing baseball for the majority of her life has helped her out competitively as well, since she is the only girl on the AAA midget team.
“It’s alright, sometimes it’s… different, but it’s still fun and its great competition going up against the guys… the hard pitching helps me have good bat speed.”
But Wall couldn’t have got to where she is now without a little help.
“My coach Doug, my Dad, and also Harv Martinez have helped me through a lot.”
