CF fundrais­ing walk will be held this Sun­day

A long run­ning Swift Cur­rent tra­di­tion re­turns on May 28 when the 2017 edi­tion of the Walk To Make Cys­tic Fi­bro­sis His­tory will be hosted.

Swift Cur­rent is one of three Saskatchewan com­mu­ni­ties host­ing a walk dur­ing the last Sun­day in May. Reg­is­tra­tion be­gins at 8 a.m. and the eight kilo­me­tre walk be­gins at 9 a.m. start­ing from River­side Park. A BBQ pro­vided by the Swift Cur­rent Kinsmen/kinette Clubs will fol­low for walk par­tic­i­pants.

Do­na­tions from the walk are uti­lized to fund re­search, plus sup­port and ad­vo­cate for high-qual­ity in­di­vid­u­al­ized CF care.

Cys­tic fi­bro­sis (CF) is the most com­mon fa­tal ge­netic disease af­fect­ing Cana­dian chil­dren and young adults. At present, there is no cure.

Coast-to-coast this Sun­day, an es­ti­mated 10,000 vol­un­teers, donors, part­ners and par­tic­i­pants will unite at local com­mu­nity walk sites dur­ing this highlight event for CF aware­ness month .
