CF fundraising walk will be held this Sunday
A long running Swift Current tradition returns on May 28 when the 2017 edition of the Walk To Make Cystic Fibrosis History will be hosted.
Swift Current is one of three Saskatchewan communities hosting a walk during the last Sunday in May. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the eight kilometre walk begins at 9 a.m. starting from Riverside Park. A BBQ provided by the Swift Current Kinsmen/kinette Clubs will follow for walk participants.
Donations from the walk are utilized to fund research, plus support and advocate for high-quality individualized CF care.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.
Coast-to-coast this Sunday, an estimated 10,000 volunteers, donors, partners and participants will unite at local community walk sites during this highlight event for CF awareness month .
