City to focus on stray dogs

St. Thomas Times-Journal - - LOCAL NEWS -

City staff presented councillors with the results of a pilot project launched last April during which city animal services picked up injured or stray dogs whether they were confined or not. Prior to the study staff were picking up dogs only if they were confined. The pilot project found calls for dogs running loose were time consuming, and sometimes animal services received multiple calls for the same dog, the report said. Councillors confirmed animal services will pick up injured or stray dogs and cats only if they are confined.
