February is the month that brings a fresh start for most students. Exam season has passed and students are able to take a few deep breaths before getting back into the swing of the school year.

The winter sports season has been quite successful for Parkside teams. The junior and senior boys basketball teams played hard and that hard work is paying off.

The senior boys basketball team remains undefeated and will be playing in the upcoming final.

The girls hockey team have also been playing an excellent season and will be playing in the upcoming semi finals.

Not only do Parkside students excel on the court and on the ice, the swim team has had some stunning results. Most students on the swim team will be competing at the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association swimming championships.

Do you or a loved one need some Parkside swag? The spirit wear inventory blowout sale will take place on Feb. 22 and 23. All prices are reduced 50 per cent while supplies last.

Parkside’s school musical Rock of Ages is just around the corner. Rock of Ages takes you back to the times of big bands with big egos playing big guitar solos and sporting even bigger hair. The cast and crew of the play have been putting in countless hours to ensure this play is one to remember. The show will run from Feb. 28 to Mar. 3. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased through the school at 241 Sunset Dr.

The second semester of the 2017/18 school year is almost back in full swing with many exciting and enjoyable events upcoming in the near future.
