Driver charged with impaired after pedestrian struck
A female pedestrian wasn’t injured when she was struck by a vehicle Tuesday night, St. Thomas police say. Officers were responding to reports of a disturbance between two men near the corner of Talbot Street and St. Catharine Street at about 9:30 p.m. when they saw one of the men drive away. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and headed north on St. Catharine Street, police said. Officers stopped the vehicle near Kains Street and took the driver into custody. Cannabis was found in the vehicle, police said. A 33-year-old St. Thomas man is charged with impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and drug possession.
