Bel­mont store robbed

El­gin County OPP are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a rob­bery at a Bel­mont food store where a man with a weapon de­manded money from an em­ployee. Of­fi­cers from sev­eral OPP de­tach­ments re­sponded to the call on Oct. 5 at about 7:30 p.m. The OPP ca­nine unit and mem­bers of the emer­gency re­sponse team also at­tended the scene, po­lice said. No one was in­jured dur­ing the rob­bery, po­lice said. Po­lice said the man left with an undis­closed amount of money. El­gin County OPP are search­ing for a man with an un­shaven face be­lieved to be over 40 years old. He was wear­ing dark pants with green on them and a grey jacket with fur around the hood and was car­ry­ing an older re­us­able green ma­te­rial shop­ping bag.
