Live artillery shell found in London
London police’s bomb squad was called in after a live artillery shell found at a north end construction site was brought to a Victoria Street address by the person who found it. The explosive disposal unit arrived at the home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday after the caller found the shell near Highbury Avenue and Kilally Road, police said. Police called the Canadian Forces Explosive Ordinance Disposal unit at CFB Borden who determined the 55-centimetre long military ordinance was live. The shell was taken to a disposal site in London and rendered safe, police said.
