Officers save life of unconscious man
Elgin County OPP officers are being credited with saving the life of a man found unconscious in a vehicle on Monday. Police received reports of a suspicious vehicle pulled over on Highway 401 in Southwold at about 2:30 a.m. Officers couldn’t wake the driver, who was alone, and the doors were locked, police said. Officers radioed for paramedics who determined the man was in medical distress. Officers forced their way into the vehicle through the passenger door. A 35-yearold Mississauga man was taken to hospital where doctors said he would have died if left at the roadside, police said.
