SOUTH STORMONT – SDG OPP have released more details about the two fatal collisions on Highway 401 west of Cornwall last week. OPP said Jasmin Campeau, 31, of Cornwall, was eastbound on the highway at about 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, when he died after colliding with an eastbound tractor-trailer near the Ingleside / Dickinson Road exchange. The driver of the transport truck was not injured. Campeau was the second person to die on the highway last week. At 11:27 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, three tractor-trailers collided as they were eastbound on the highway just past the Moulinette Road exchange. One tractor-trailer initiated the incident, which caused a chain reaction sending a second tractor-trailer – which caught fire – into a third. The driver of the second tractortrailer died in the collision and has not yet been positively identified. SDG OPP, with the assistance of traffic collision investigators, are continuing their investigations into these two collisions.
