Teams already eying new arena

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS - Victoria Vanier

Earlier this week, it was reported in La Tribune that Weedon’s Hockey Experts team, which entered the senior BeauceBellechasse-Frontenac hockey league two years ago, is looking for a new home and they just might pick the new Pat Burns Arena. New team owners, Nolan Poulin and Nicolas Beaulieu, have announced that the team will move to either Sherbrooke, Windsor or Stanstead.

Although he admitted that the Fleurimont (Sherbrooke) location will probably be chosen, Nicolas Beaulieu said: “It would be interesting to evolve inside the new Pat Burns Arena. However, we would be outside of the Beauce-BellechasseFrontenac league’s territory.” In Windsor, the down side is that the team would not be allowed to touch the profits of the beer sales at that arena.

According to the new owners of the team, the team could attract more than 300 spectators per match at either one of the possible locations; almost double the amount of spectators in Weedon.
