Special evening in Stanstead
On January 22, 2011, an intimate group of ticket holders will have the opportunity to celebrate the Eastern Townships and support youth during “One Night on the 45th Parallel”, a unique fundraiser evening that will include a meal at La Vieille Douane restaurant, a tour of Stanstead’s Border Theatre, a visit to Stanstead’s Stone Circle and a concert at Checkpoint Charlie, featuring local bands Juggling Embers and Jake and the Leprechauns.
For an affordable price per ticket, guests will partake in an authentic Greek meal at La Vieille Douane restaurant (situated at the historic Rock Island border crossing in Stanstead, Quebec). This sumptuous meal will be followed by a guided tour of Stanstead’s Border Theatre as well as a visit to Stanstead’s Stone Circle, a permanent granite installation located directly on the 45th parallel. The evening will end with a one-of-a-kind concert at Checkpoint Charlie pub, featuring two local bands: opening act Juggling Embers and headliners Jake and the Leprechauns.
In addition to all of this, guests will get an opportunity to greet a group of young graduates and professionals who will be visiting the Estrie as part of a Make Way for YOUth Discovery Days weekend. These young visitors will be eager to meet and mingle with guests, and learn more about why they chose to make the Estrie region their home. The soirée will provide an ideal networking opportunity for anyone interested in developing – or strengthening – connections within the English-speaking community of the Eastern Townships.
The number of tickets available for the evening is limited, so get yours now! Tickets can be purchased by calling Townshippers’ Association at 819 566-5717 (toll-free: 1-866566-5717). Please note that, that it is possible for anyone interested in attending only the concert portion of the evening, just give us a call for the info.
