Evans (as seen in photo from left to right), Lillian Rider, Dr. John Murray, Burton McConnell, Chuck Kobelt and Ruth Evans, recounted years past and future hopes. Congratulations LAHMS and here’s to another 40 years.
Winners aren’t always the teams that end up with the highest score, but for Team Cheal it was. Jeff Cheal and his team; Evan Mooney, Matt McCrea and Danny Comeau claimed the 2011 Royal Canadian Legion Command Provincial Curling Championship last Sunday against 11 teams at the North Hatley and Lennoxville Curling Clubs. “It’s exciting to be able to win this event as the host. We’re looking forward to going back to Hudson to compete for the National title,” said Cheal. Cheal, Mooney and Comeau have won the National title on two occasions, the first in Hudson in 2002. McCrea joined the team when they once again captured the title in 2005.
As easy as it may be to fall off that January horse, make sure to get back up there and see the forest through the trees. Happy January!
