Call­ing all en­trepreneurs!

The Mem­phrem­a­gog CLD has of­fi­cially launched their call to can­di­dates for the “cre­ation d’en­treprise” cat­e­gory of the 13th edi­tion of the Con­cours que­be­coise en en­trepreneuriat. This year, $500,000 in prize money will be awarded.

This con­test is the only con­test that is open to stu­dents from the ele­men­tary level all the way to uni­ver­sity, as well as to new en­trepreneurs who are of­ten in the mid­dle of get­ting their busi­ness launched.

En­trepreneurs who are 18 or older, in the first stages of re­al­iz­ing a project for 2011 or who made their first sales af­ter April 1st, 2010, are el­i­gi­ble to par­tic­i­pate. The projects can be pre­sented in dif­fer­ent cat­e­gories:

bio-food; com­merce; so­cial econ­omy; ex­por­ta­tion; trans­for­ma­tion or pro­duc­tion; tech­no­log­i­cal or tech­ni­cal in­no­va­tion; ser­vices to in­di­vid­u­als; and ser­vices to en­ter­prises. Fur­ther­more, the “Trans­mis­sion d’en­treprises” prize aims to en­cour­age en­trepreneurs who take over an ex­ist­ing busi­ness.

The projects are eval­u­ated ac­cord­ing to dif­fer­ing cri­te­ria such as the anal­y­sis of the mar­ket­place, the op­er­at­ing plan, the mar­ket­ing and fi­nanc­ing plan, as well as the en­tre­pre­neur­ial pro­file of the pro­moter.

The win­ners of the lo­cal con­test will be an­nounced in April. They will au­to­mat­i­cally qual­ify for the re­gional fi­nal which will be held at the end of April.
