Job seeking made easier all month
Although the Job Seekers Breakfast, which was to be held at the CAB RH Rediker last Monday, was cancelled because not enough people registered in time (four days in advance), another Job Seekers Breakfast in Stanstead has been planned for February15th. Information about job searching and going back to school as well as future employment opportunities with the town of Stanstead will be presented.
CV and interview training will take place in Magog on February 10th, in French, at the Centre local d’emploi in Magog, to get job seekers ready for the big “Speed dating” event held on February 17th at the CIFI on Poirier Street in Magog. “This year, our second edition, we have 300 jobs to be filled and there will be 18 employers participating,” explained Marie Coté, communication agent for CJE Memphremagog. Some of the employers that will be present and looking for workers are Wulftec International, Industrial Alliance, CSSS Memphremagog, Les Jardins d’Eastman, Auberge du Grand Lac etc.
Another activity being held in Stanstead in conjunction with this month long event will be the “4 to 7 PM Mixer” which takes place at La Veille Douane Restaurant on February 22nd. This will be an informal meeting with employers of the Stanstead region. Those who would like to attend are asked to confirm their presence, if possible, by calling the Stanstead Town Hall.
