Job seek­ing made eas­ier all month

Al­though the Job Seek­ers Break­fast, which was to be held at the CAB RH Rediker last Mon­day, was can­celled be­cause not enough peo­ple reg­is­tered in time (four days in ad­vance), an­other Job Seek­ers Break­fast in Stanstead has been planned for Fe­bru­ary15th. This time it will be held at La Veille Douane Restau­rant and peo­ple in­ter­ested in at­tend­ing have un­til Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 11th, 4:00 pm, to reg­is­ter by call­ing the Stanstead Town Hall. In­for­ma­tion about job search­ing and go­ing back to school as well as fu­ture em­ploy­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties with the town of Stanstead will be pre­sented.

CV and in­ter­view train­ing will take place in Ma­gog on Fe­bru­ary 10th, in French, at the Cen­tre lo­cal d’em­ploi in Ma­gog, to get job seek­ers ready for the big “Speed dat­ing” event held on Fe­bru­ary 17th at the CIFI on Poirier Street in Ma­gog. “This year, our sec­ond edi­tion, we have 300 jobs to be filled and there will be 18 em­ploy­ers par­tic­i­pat­ing,” ex­plained Marie Coté, com­mu­ni­ca­tion agent for CJE Mem­phrem­a­gog. Some of the em­ploy­ers that will be present and look­ing for work­ers are Wulftec In­ter­na­tional, In­dus­trial Al­liance, CSSS Mem­phrem­a­gog, Les Jardins d’East­man, Auberge du Grand Lac etc.

An­other ac­tiv­ity be­ing held in Stanstead in con­junc­tion with this month long event will be the “4 to 7 PM Mixer” which takes place at La Veille Douane Restau­rant on Fe­bru­ary 22nd. This will be an in­for­mal meet­ing with em­ploy­ers of the Stanstead re­gion. Those who would like to at­tend are asked to con­firm their pres­ence, if pos­si­ble, by call­ing the Stanstead Town Hall.
