Aficionados of the Fine Arts Support the Musée
Results of the Soirée des Beaux-arts of the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke: $75,000 Madame Cécile Gélinas, Director of the Musée des beaux-arts de Sherbrooke, is pleased to announce that the 2011 edition of the Soirée des Beaux-arts brought the tidy sum of $75,000 to the coffers of the Musée, the result of ticket sales as well as the auction of art works. Twenty-two works achieved bids of $1000 or more: two each by Yves Trudeau, Riopelle et Jean Paul Lemieux and one by Leonard Cohen, Rita Letendre, Serge Lemoyne, Richard Lacroix, Lauréat Marois, Lisa Tognon, Norman McLaren, Norman Laliberté, René Derouin, Paolo Zuleta Zahr, Graham Cantieni and from the Townships, Mélanie Lefebvre, Charles Daudelin, Étienne St-Amant, John Ballantyne, Jacques Barbeau. But it was Sylvain Grondin’s Feu sacré, that hit the Present at the art museum’s auction were the museum’s Board of Directors, dent of the evening, director museum’s curator.
