Do you know some­one with a pet that helps its owner func­tion daily? They can be heroes. Ask Cathy Turner about her dog, Rex, who saved a Sher­brooke woman’s life. The Town­ships has a large and string pet owner pop­u­la­tion. A pop­u­la­tion that learns and grows with each other, why not cel­e­brate them? A sum­mer cel­e­bra­tion will com­mem­o­rate these award win­ners, canine, fe­line or hu­man, but you need to nom­i­nate. You can do so by email­ing me at

I’ll have plenty to do over March Break. I won’t choose to be bored, I may choose to be lazy and re­lax, but never bored. The ques­tion is, will I be able to con­vince my chil­dren to ig­nore the urge to be bored? That re­mains to be seen.
