Mer­maids find new home

Ray­mond Boudreault , re­tired stone­cut­ter and sculp­tor, has do­nated one of his wood carv­ings to the Goodrich Me­mo­rial Li­brary. Mr Boudreault is a multi-tal­ented artist who has worked in mar­ble, wood, soap­stone, gran­ite and ice. In the past his work has been shown at gal­leries in Que­bec, the Ver­mont Folk­life Cen­ter, and Mid­dle­bury Col­lege. Cre­ated in 1989, this 6 foot bas­re­lief plaque de­pict­ing a mer­maid cou­ple can now be seen in the sec­ond floor read­ing room at the Goodrich Li­brary. It is with great ap­pre­ci­a­tion for Mr. Boudreault’s tal­ents that the li­brary sin­cerely thanks him for his do­na­tion. We in­vite ev­ery­one to come to the li­brary to view this out­stand­ing piece of art.
