Last week, MNA Pierre Reid announced that $27,668,240 would be invested into the roads of the Orford riding as part of the provincial government’s economic recovery plan. The percentage of Quebec roads in good shape is progressing and expected to hit 72.2% in 2011. Regarding the transport department’s structures, 66% are now in good shape as compared to 53% in 2006.

The main transport projects for the riding will be: .9 km between Ste. Catherine-de-Hatley and Sherbrooke which will get a top layer of asphalt; new shoulders on the 143 between Stanstead East and Stanstead; the reconstruction of a nonfunctional bridge on the Way’s Mills Road, over the Tomifobia, in Barnston West; an enlargement going from 4 to 6 lanes at the Stanstead border; a rebuilding of the structure above the MMA railway line on autoroute 10, in Magog.
