Firemen’s Dance this Saturday
Ifyou haven’t already done so, be sure to reserve Saturday, March 19th for your local firemen. Back by popular demand is the firemen associations’ benefit dance, to be held at Lebaron Hall (at Stanstead College). Doors open at 8:30pm, and the music will begin at 9pm. Local favorite “Slightly Haggard” featuring Brian Custis and son, will be playing all sorts of country and some classic rock. Lieutenant Chris Goodsell, lead organizer of the event, promises a good time. “It’s that time of year where there is not a lot of things going on, so this is a great opportunity to get out of the house and support a good cause”. Funds raised serve a variety of purposes. For example, Christmas Toy Drive, local house fire victims, Borderfest float and activities, meals for volunteers during blood drive, training exercises, cancer research, and fallen firefighter foundations. Tickets are $5 in advance, and $8 at the door so buy early! Tickets are available through any of the firemen, or by contacting Charles McIntyre (678-7496) or Chris Goodsell (578-5151).
