TheEast­ern Town­ships Cana­dian Club/Club Cana­dien des Can­tons de l’Est will fea­ture Anne O’Don­nell who is an In­dus­trial Hy­gien­ist with 20 years ex­pe­ri­ence in the field.

In­dus­trial hy­giene is the science of pro­tect­ing and en­hanc­ing the health and safety of peo­ple at work, at home and in their com­mu­ni­ties. Health and safety haz­ards cover a wide range of chem­i­cal, phys­i­cal, bi­o­log­i­cal and er­gonomic stres­sors.

Anne O’Don­nell is the first per­son in East­ern Canada to of­fer state of the art mould de­tec­tion ser­vices us­ing a cer­ti­fied mould de­tec­tion canine. With her mould de­tect­ing dog, O’Livia, they are spe­cial­ists in find­ing mould in health clin­ics, hos­pi­tals, schools, of­fices, res­i­dences and man­u­fac­tur­ing fa­cil­i­ties. O’Livia, a pro­grammed Weimarmer, is trained to find mould in var­i­ous hid­den places, such as be­hind walls and un­der floors. Anne O’Don­nell has worked as a sci­en­tific pro­fes­sional at the Que­bec Health and Safety Re­search In­sti­tute spe­cial­iz­ing in ven­ti­la­tion and air qual­ity. Her ex­per­tise in­cludes air qual­ity eval­u­a­tions in man­u­fac­tur­ing fa­cil­i­ties and of­fices, ven­ti­la­tion eval­u­a­tions, chem­i­cal prod­uct mea­sure­ments in air, as­bestos, legal rep­re­sen­ta­tion, tox­i­co­log­i­cal stud­ies, noise ex­po­sure mea­sure­ments and heat stress. Anne is an avid and ex­pe­ri­enced cy­clist, and also has par­tic­i­pated in a sk­i­jor­ing train­ing camp spon­sored by the In­ter­na­tional Fed­er­a­tion of Sled Sport­ing dogs.

Mem­bers, both men and women, and the pub­lic are in­vited to meet for din­ner and this im­por­tant pre­sen­ta­tion on Mon­day, April 4 at 6:30 PM at Hô­tel Le Prési­dent, 3535 King W. in Sher­brooke. Reser­va­tions are nec­es­sary for both meal and pre­sen­ta­tion; re­serve at 819-826-3929 by March 31. There is a charge to at­tend the pre­sen­ta­tion only (7:45 PM). Please note that Hô­tel Le Prési­dent is wheel-chair ac­ces­si­ble, and can­cel­la­tions must be made 48 hours in ad­vance of the event.
