Money to fight cli­mate change

OnApril 1st, MNA Monique Gagnon-Tremblay an­nounced fi­nan­cial aid for five vil­lages and two Estrie MRC’s to fight the ef­fects of cli­mate change. The towns of Comp­ton, Coat­i­cook, Stoke, Val­court and Water­ville, along with the MRCs of Coat­i­cook and Mem­phrem­a­gog, can count on fi­nan­cial aid to­talling $359,967 to cre­ate in­ven­to­ries of their green­house gas emis­sions and ac­tion plans to re­duce those emis­sions. The money comes from the Cli­mat mu­nic­i­pal­ités pro­gram which is part of the 2006 – 2012 Ac­tion Plan on cli­mate change and fi­nanced by the Fonds vert.
