Card Party In Austin

A500­card party was held in the Austin Town Hall on Satur­day, April 9, 2011, for the ben­e­fit of the East Bolton Ceme­tery As­so­ci­a­tion. The Pres­i­dent, Arthur Bryant, wel­comed ev­ery­one and the Vice-Pres­i­dent, Bernie Linde, ex­plained the ta­ble place­ment and rules. A to­tal of 12 ta­bles were played. The re­sults were as fol­lows: Ladies’ first was won by Greta Nish with a score of 6620; Karen Pat­ter­son was sec­ond with a score of 6380. Gerry Meesen took the ladies’ con­so­la­tion prize with a score of 2340. Men’s high score was won by Gor­don Humphry with a score of 6500 and Ge­orge Peasley won sec­ond with a score of 6120. Jessie Bryant proudly won a con­so­la­tion men’s prize with a score of 2520. Chris Les­sard won a prize for a 10 any bid af­ter a draw with Jane Cur­tis. Karen Pat­ter­son took the nine no trump prize with two suc­cess­ful bids and Linda Grenon won the nine of hearts prize also with two bids. Pres­i­dent Arthur Bryant thanked all for at­tend­ing and the ladies who sup­plied the lunch and the many peo­ple who do­nated prizes.
