Stu­dentsin the Cre­ative Arts and Fine Arts pro­grams at Cham­plain Len­noxville trav­elled to Mon­treal to par­tic­i­pate in a va­ri­ety of cul­tural ac­tiv­i­ties the me­trop­o­lis has to of­fer as part of their pro­gram cur­ricu­lum.

This se­mes­ter stu­dents were able to se­lect ac­tiv­i­ties such as visit the Mon­treal Mu­seum of Fine Arts and have the ex­cep­tional op­por­tu­nity to view the ex­hi­bi­tion, China’s Ter­ra­cotta Army, visit the Mu­seum of Con­tem­po­rary Art, and at­tend the Mon­treal Sym­phony Orches­tra fea­tur­ing ac­claimed pi­anist, An­ton Kuerti, per­form­ing Beethoven’s Piano Con­certo No. 5 and se­lec­tions from De­bussy and Stravin­ski. Other stu­dents elected to at­tend the Film Fes­ti­val at Cinéma du Parc or view a Peru­vian movie at Le Fes­ti­val du Cinéma Latino-Améri­cain de Mon­tréal.

The Cre­ative Arts pro­gram at Cham­plain Len­noxville in­te­grates four artis­tic dis­ci­plines over the course of two years, giv­ing CEGEP stu­dents a unique op­por­tu­nity to ex­plore theatre, mu­sic, fine arts, and film and video.

To add to the fun of the field trip, the stu­dents trav­elled on the re­cently un­veiled “Cougar” bus. The bus is owned and op­er­ated by Au­to­cars Thet­ford Inc. who gra­ciously ac­cepted it be dec­o­rated “Cougar” style with the as­sis­tance of two of our gen­er­ous sup­port­ers, Per­for­mance Staxx and SBK.
