Studentsin the Creative Arts and Fine Arts programs at Champlain Lennoxville travelled to Montreal to participate in a variety of cultural activities the metropolis has to offer as part of their program curriculum.
This semester students were able to select activities such as visit the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and have the exceptional opportunity to view the exhibition, China’s Terracotta Army, visit the Museum of Contemporary Art, and attend the Montreal Symphony Orchestra featuring acclaimed pianist, Anton Kuerti, performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 and selections from Debussy and Stravinski. Other students elected to attend the Film Festival at Cinéma du Parc or view a Peruvian movie at Le Festival du Cinéma Latino-Américain de Montréal.
The Creative Arts program at Champlain Lennoxville integrates four artistic disciplines over the course of two years, giving CEGEP students a unique opportunity to explore theatre, music, fine arts, and film and video.
To add to the fun of the field trip, the students travelled on the recently unveiled “Cougar” bus. The bus is owned and operated by Autocars Thetford Inc. who graciously accepted it be decorated “Cougar” style with the assistance of two of our generous supporters, Performance Staxx and SBK.
