Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEFS -

“ProjetColibri”, a hummingbird research project which is in its 6th season, is looking for more people to participate in the project. Birdwatchers are asked to take note of the arrival and departure of the ruby-throated hummingbird in their area, as well as look for ones with a coloured mark on their back or chest. The best period for the dispersion of these ‘marked’ hummingbirds is between May 15th and June 15th.

Since 2006, 1,360 hummingbirds have been banded and marked. There are three banding stations in operation in Quebec: in Stoke; Berthier-sur-mer; and Mont-Laurier. For more information go tojetcolib
