‘Hot’ car

Victoria Vanier, Stanstead

Stanstead Journal - - FRONT PAGE -

On Monday night, at around 2:00 am, a member of Ambulance Stanstead noticed that a car parked in front of 700 Dufferin Street, in Stanstead, had started burning and immediately called the Fire Department. “It took us between twenty minutes to half an hour to put out the fire. The car was totally destroyed,” said Firechief James Runciman. It is suspected that the fire to the Hyundai Accent, which had been parked there since about 7:00 pm, was caused by a malfunction of the electrical system.

An electrical malfunction is thought to be the cause of the fire that destroyed this car on Monday night.
