Annual Spring Luncheon still popular

Stanstead Journal - - NEWS BRIEF - Stanstead

The Helping Circle of the Stanstead South United Church held another successful Spring Luncheon last Saturday, serving up lots of sandwiches and desserts. “We made almost $400 to add to our funds that we will distribute at the end of the year,” said Barbara Bruhmuller, the president of the ladies group. According to Barbara, the Bake Sale table seemed to raise more money than the White Elephant Table, a table of used items that people donate to the group. “It would be nice if people could donate more things for this table – we can collect things all year long.”

The Helping Circle’s next big activity will be their annual Garage Sale on June 11th, one week before the town-wide sale. After a break for the summer, the ladies will be getting ready to take part in Townshippers’ Day where they will run a food booth.

Mrs. Bruhmuller was also pleased to announce that the group has a new member: new Stanstead resident Millie Kennison.
