Choromondo sings for Mae Sot
Choromondois a 25 voice women’s choir of Vermont and Townships singers directed by its founder, Allyna Harris. The choir is dynamic, informal and unusual...the group dresses in a rainbow of colours and sings an eclectic mix of traditional music from all over the world!
This year’s concerts will take place on Friday, June 10th, 7 pm, at Stanstead South Church, and on Saturday, June 11th, 7 pm, at Bishop’s University in Bandeen Hall. The concert will include songs from South Africa, Croatia, West Africa, Bulgaria, Republic of Congo, Spain, Macedonia and more!
Choromondo’s 12th annual benefit concerts will support the Eastern Townships Mae Sot Project with Burmese refugees along the Thai border. Each year Mae Sot sends volunteer students from Champlain College and Bishop’s University to teach Burmese migrant children. You can find out more about this project at www. ubishops.ca/maesot.
