Musicfest 2011

Stanstead Journal - - FORUM - Madeline Mulholland Ayer’s Cliff

Musicfest2011 took place on Saturday, June 4th at the Ayer’s Cliff fairgrounds and ran throughout the weekend. The festival is held annually in order to raise funds for The Children’s Wish Foundation, a charitable organization that raises money to grant wishes to seriously and terminally, ill children.

The festival this year was held over two days and featured many live bands who played throughout the weekend, day and night. There was camping on the site and the grounds were filled with campers, trailers and tents by early Saturday afternoon. This event typically focuses on family and music, and featured many children activities as well as the live music and dance floor. One building was filled with inflatable bouncing rides for children while another held activity booths and animal displays designed to amuse younger attendees.

Saturday afternoon featured a Rythme and Blues band and kids of all ages were seen dancing, even the senior ones. Also on site was a silent auction, and the quantity of goods for auction was quite impressive. It was clear that both individuals and companies were generous in their donations. As it stands, proceeds of the weekend fundraising efforts have yet to be tallied.
