Town­ship­pers’ Day 2011: Look­ing For Lo­cal Ar­ti­sans, Tal­ent And Flavour

With­the be­gin­ning of sum­mer now upon us, the mem­bers of the 2011 Town­ship­pers’ Day com­mit­tee are gear­ing up, al­ready look­ing for ex­hibitors to dis­play the tal­ents and tastes of the East­ern Town­ships at Town­ship­pers’ Day in Septem­ber. If you are an ar­ti­san, food ven­dor or en­ter­tainer who would like to par­tic­i­pate in this year’s big event, con­tact Town­ship­pers’ As­so­ci­a­tion right away to ob­tain your re­quest form.

Each year, Town­ship­pers’ Day brings to­gether peo­ple from all across the re­gion for an an­nual one-day event and cel­e­bra­tion aimed at rec­og­niz­ing the vi­tal­ity and creativ­ity of the East­ern Town­ships English-speak­ing com­mu­nity, in­clud­ing its artists and ar­ti­sans, mu­si­cians and dancers, writers and pho­tog­ra­phers and lo­cal en­trepreneurs. The day has al­ways served as a time for peo­ple to re­con­nect with long-lost ac­quain­tances and, some­times, be­come reac­quainted with long-lost roots to the area. This year, Town­ship­pers’ Day will fea­ture lo­cal mu­sic for all tastes, ac­tiv­i­ties for the whole fam­ily, good food and good fun, all sur­rounded by a show­case of tal­ents from all corners of the re­gion. The Town­ship­pers’ Day com­mit­tee in­vites any­one from the com­mu­nity who would like to dis­play their arts and crafts, tal­ents or culi­nary treats in Stanstead this Septem­ber to send in their re­quest forms as soon as pos­si­ble. This year, for the first time, Town­ship­pers’ As­so­ci­a­tion will be of­fer­ing an ‘early-bird’ spe­cial for all ar­ti­sans and food ven­dors: any in­di­vid­ual or group that signs up be­fore July 31 will be el­i­gi­ble for a dis­counted par­tic­i­pa­tion fee. As al­ways, reg­is­tra­tion will be done on a first-come, first-served ba­sis, but pri­or­ity will be given to ar­ti­sans and food ven­dors from Stanstead and sur­round­ing ar­eas.

For this, the 32nd edi­tion of Town­ship­pers’ Day, the events of Septem­ber 17th will only be com­plete with a rich and di­verse num­ber of dis­plays and ex­hibits from the com­mu­nity. We hope you’ll join us!
