The Prix d’Europe is Que­bec’s most pres­ti­gious mu­si­cal competition, which cel­e­brated its 100th an­niver­sary last week. In 1943, Berthe Dor­val won the competition. Not much is known about her af­ter she won the prize ex­cept that she taught at the East­ern Town­ships Mu­sic Academy in the late 1940’s and then ab­so­lutely van­ished… It’s a mys­tery to us and to Ross Mur­ray at Stanstead Col­lege.
