St. Laurent Puts On His Sunday Best
Le Choeur Florilège
Sunday July 3, 2011 at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., Choeur Florilège will be performing at the Louis S. St. Laurent National Historic Site. On stage, more than 30 members of the choir will be singing jazz, Quebecois folklore, songs from films and musical show tunes. This activity is presented in collaboration with the Louis S. St. Laurent National Historic Site’s Companions.
Founded in 1983, Choeur Florilège brings together choral singers of all ages and of all backgrounds from the Sherbrooke region and its surrounding areas. This large musical family, conducted by choirmaster Jean-Philippe Dutil, will perform an adaptation of its annual concert. The choir’s songs will be accompanied by percussions, musical instruments and will also simply be sung a capella. Directed by Stéphane Baillargeon, the show is punctuated by dances, choreographies and theatre, which ensures a highly entertaining experience!
Visitors are encouraged to make the most of this special day by having a picnic in the St. Laurent family’s garden. The St. Laurent Puts on its Sunday Best summer program runs until Sunday, August 28, 2011. All activities take place under the tent in the St-Laurent family’s magnificent garden.
