Students shine at Sunnyside
Elementary held their end-ofschool awards ceremony, last Thursday, in the school’s gymnasium. The Tracy Sheldon
Award, given to the most helpful student of the year, was given to Alesha Grimes. The
Helen Huckins Award, given out for kindness and generosity, was given to Larisa-Ann Doherty.The following students were also presented with various awards: Penmanship, Aaron MacLeod; Katherine McKenzie Award for French Proficiency, Tosha Callaway; ColbyCurtis Award, Cody Heatherington; Irene
Blandford Award, Dylan Blanchette; Male- female athlete, Shawn Dolloff and Katy Tilton; Henry Seth Taylor Award for math, Cody Heatherington; Robert Munsch Award for Language Arts, Tosha Callaway; Wendy
Weller Award for overcoming a handicap, Corey Bennett; Rotary Club Award winners for Language Arts, Math and French were Dylan Blanchette, Larissa Doherty, Hannah Wallace who won twice, Shawn Dolloff and Alesha Grimes; ATA Award, Jonathan Tilton; and the Dr. Marguerite Knapp Award, Loraly Grenier. The Cycle 1 and 2 awards given out were:
Robert Munsch Award, Maria Sheldon and Madison Tilton; Jean-Paul Riopelle Award, Sierra Buzzell and Jed Bryant; Henry Seth Taylor Award, Ryan Goyette and Marianne
Noel; Felix Leclerc Award, Katrina Beaudin and Kayla Aley.
Heather Webster gave out special math awards to four students who made extra efforts in math.
