$15,000 raised at golf tournament
The 13th Magog Municipal Council golf Tournament was held last Friday at the Venise Golf Club. In total, 215 golfers teed up and more than 300 people attended the dinner. $15,000 was raised this year and will be distributed to five local organizations.
“We are, once again, very satisfied with the results of this benefit tournament. Even if this is not our first event, each new edition brings with it new challenges. This year, we knew that five organizations instead of three would benefit from the money raised. This motivated us to redouble our efforts to get lots of people to participate,” explained Magog’s mayor, Vicki May Hamm. “I’m proud to be able to count on people from the area to participate in this tournament which is always fun. Even with the freshness of September, everyone had a good time and many left with one of the numerous prizes that were won during the supper.”
Those organizations that will benefit from the funds raised this year are the AQDR Memphremagog, Cuisines Collectives Bouchée Double, the Fondation Christian Vachon of the Villa Pierrot and the Memphremagog food bank.
