Dan­ger­ous driver ar­rested in Stanstead

Last Thurs­day morn­ing, the po­lice ar­rested 21 year-old Ernest Ir­win who lives in the Beebe sec­tor of Stanstead. Mr. Ir­win was ac­cused of putting his own life and that of a pas­sen­ger on his all-ter­rain ve­hi­cle in dan­ger the Sun­day be­fore when an SQ of­fi­cer pa­trolling the area saw him ac­cel­er­at­ing, de­cel­er­at­ing and pulling ‘wheel­ies’ on his ve­hi­cle late in the af­ter­noon. When the of­fi­cer tried to in­ter­cept him on Elm Street where he was rid­ing, the ac­cused es­caped ar­rest by tak­ing off down Junc­tion road. The sus­pect, who was known to the po­lice of­fi­cer who wit­nessed the event and eas­ily iden­ti­fi­able since he wasn’t wear­ing a hel­met, was even­tu­ally ar­rested near his home.
