The fight against prostate can­cer – a cause that touches Nancy Lay­ton

A ben­e­fit break­fast ded­i­cated to the health of men for the fight against can­cer of the prostate took place at the Delta Sher­brooke Ho­tel last Thurs­day, rais­ing $27,362.71 for Pro­cure. Dr. Michel Carmel, chief urol­o­gist of the CHUS and the pres­i­dent of the or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee for “Unis con­tre le Can­cer de la Prostate”, an­nounced the theme of the event, “Can­cer of the prostate – the silent killer”, to the al­most two hun­dred who at­tended.

Nancy Lay­ton, the sis­ter of the late Jack Lay­ton, spoke to the in­vited guests about the im­pact of can­cer on the fam­ily. Both Bishop’s Univer­sity prin­ci­pal Michael Gold­bloom and ac­tor and pub­lic speaker Hugo Dubé were the hon­orary pres­i­dents of the event.
